Pressure Point Karate Made Easy - George Dillman
This book starts with a brief history of karate and the various styles, then takes you through a number of stances and strikes, leading on to single and multiple techniques and kata interpretation – all augmented by pressure point charts.
This book takes a “beginners” look at the use of pressure points by martial artists. It describes the how, why and where of pressure point use. It shows specific techniques which can be used by pretty much anyone, and has a number of these techniques demonstrated by a girl causing pain to a man.
Dillman also looks at an area which has been under more scrutiny of late, that when the Japanese taught their arts to the west, they altered them, watered them down so that they weren’t quite so effective. He, like some prominent British Martial Artists believe that they “hid” the best, most effective techniques in their katas – George believes that many of the kata strikes are in fact pressure point strikes.
